Fin dal proprio esordio nel 2000, il Quartetto di Cremona si è affermato come una delle realtà cameristiche più interessanti a livello internazionale ed è regolarmente invitato ad esibirsi nei principali festival e rassegne musicali in Europa, Nord e Sud America, e in Estremo Oriente, riscuotendo unanimi consensi di pubblico e critica. Tra gli impegni più rilevanti delle passate stagioni, concerti al Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), alla Elbphilharmonie (Amburgo), alla Konzerthaus Berlin, alla Brucknerhaus (Linz), alla Wigmore Hall (Londra), a Stoccolma, Mumbai, Pechino, Ginevra, Salisburgo, per il Festival Schubertiade, la Chamber Music Society del Lincoln Center di New York e per i principali festival e società di concerto italiani. Nella stagione 23/24, l’acclamato debutto alla Carnegie Hall (ottobre 2023) è stato seguito dal re-invito da parte della CMS al Lincoln Center (marzo 2024). Nella stagione 24/25 l’ensemble ha avviato i festeggiamenti per i 25 anni di carriera con concerti in prestigiosi festival e società di concerto italiani (quali Genova, Bologna, Torino, Milano, Roma, L’Aquila) ed internazionali (tra gli altri, Praga, Toronto, Taipei, Madrid, Denver). Inoltre, è stato pubblicato un nuovo CD: L’Arte della Fuga di Bach, eseguita con sette strumenti per non alterare la scrittura originaria della partitura (Orchid Classics). Il Quartetto di Cremona collabora regolarmente con numerosi artisti quali Eckart Runge, Till Fellner, Pablo Barragan, Kit Armstrong, Miguel da Silva, David Orlowsky, Kyril Zlotnikov, Emerson String Quartet e il Quartetto Pavel Haas. Tra le precedenti incisioni: “Italian Postcards” (2020, Avie Records); un doppio CD dedicato a Schubert (2019, Audite); l’integrale dei Quartetti di Beethoven (2018, Audite). Tutti i dischi sono stati accolti con grande interesse dalla critica internazionale, ottenendo anche importanti riconoscimenti discografici. Il Quartetto di Cremona è regolarmente invitato a tenere masterclass in Europa, America, Asia, e dall’a.a. 2011/2012 è titolare della cattedra del “Corso di Alto Perfezionamento per Quartetto d’Archi” presso l’Accademia Walter Stauffer di Cremona. Nel 2015 è stato insignito della cittadinanza onoraria della Città di Cremona e nel 2019 ha ricevuto il “Franco Buitoni Award” dal Borletti Buitoni Trust per il costante contributo alla promozione e alla diffusione della musica da camera in Italia e nel mondo. È testimonial del progetto internazionale “Friends of Stradivari”, di Thomastik Infeld Strings e de “Le Dimore del Quartetto”.

Since its formation in 2000, the Quartetto di Cremona has established a reputation as one of the most exciting chamber ensembles on the international stage. The quartet is regularly invited to perform in major music festivals and halls in Europe, North and South America, as well as the Far East, receiving unanimous acclaim from the public and critics. Among the most important engagements of the past seasons are performances at the Wigmore Hall (London), at the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), at the Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), at the Konzerthaus in Berlin, at the Brucknerhaus (Linz), in Geneva, Stockholm, Mumbai, Beijing, at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg, at the String Quartet Festival in Salzburg, in Prague and for the major Italian festivals and concerts societies. During the 23/24 season, the acclaimed debut at Carnegie Hall (October 2023) was followed by the Chamber Music Society’s re-invitation to Lincoln Center, in March 2024. The first performance at CMS took place successfully in February 2022. The Quartetto di Cremona also collaborates with numerous artists such as Eckart Runge, Till Fellner, Pablo Barragan, Kit Armstrong, Miguel da Silva, David Orlowsky, Kyril Zlotnikov, the Emerson String Quartet and the Pavel Haas Quartet. During the 2024/2025 season, the ensemble celebrated its 25th Career Anniversary, which included concerts in prestigious Italian and international festivals and concert societies. On the discographic side, a new CD will soon be released with the ensemble’s own version of The Art of Fugue, performed with seven instruments so as not to alter the original writing of Bach’s score, which will be published for the 25th anniversary of their career.
Previous recordings include: “Italian Postcards” (2020, Avie Records); a double CD dedicated to Schubert (2019, Audite) and the complete Beethoven String Quartets (20128, Audite). All of these recordings were received with great recognition by international critics, and all of them won important discographic prizes. Frequently invited to present masterclasses in Europe, Asia, North and South America, the members of the quartet have been professors at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona since 2011.
In 2019, the quartet was given the “Franco Buitoni Award” by the Borletti Buitoni Trust for their continuing contribution to the promotion of chamber music in Italy and around the world. They are ambassadors for the international project “Friends of Stradivari” and honorary citizens of Cremona, a title awarded to the quartet in 2015. They also endorse “Le Dimore del Quartetto” and Thomastik Infield Strings.
